We're nearly up to the rafters with fabric that is nothing short of perfect for apparel sewing!
Nest Voile fabric, new from Valori Wells, is soft and supple and wide. This seems to be a different voile than what Anna Maria used for Little Folks; it's less slippery, but just as fabulous! The colors are soft and really superb for summer. The weave is tight, and the drape is just right; you're not going to have to worry about your dress or top standing up to lots of wash and wear and playground time, it will!

Patty Young and Michael Miller have brought us a great selection of knits. I appreciate how they didn't ditch the basics and did include solids, dots and stripes along with the more bold prints. Aqua, turquoise, pink, lime and brown are the main players with black, grey, white and citron (a more yellowy green than lime) filling in the supporting roles. This knit is nearly 10 oz per yard, making it a good medium weight (read that as "good for summer or winter"). The best uses for these knits are t-shirts, dresses, and skirts. If you want to sew pants with this knit I suggest a design/fit such as pattern Abacadabra 91, the pants are loose and therefore there's no worrying about saggy baggy elephant knees which is prone to happen in leggings made from knit with no lycra.

To celebrate the knits are on sale for the coming week - through July 4. So get your rotary cutter, fabric weights (or tuna cans) and ball point needles ready to jump right in and whip up a cute knit outfit.
